We all love our dancing and mischievous Rockin' Robin mascot at Swindon Town home games where he brings great pleasure to Town fans, especially the Junior Robins, with his dancing and engagement with fans.
Rockin' Robin has been dreadfully missed the last few home games and there is a reason for him not showing off his dancing during this period.
No, he hasn’t flown away to mate for the winter or run off with his girlfriend to get married; simply the suit he wears has unfortunately fallen apart and is now unusable and unrepairable.
The current suit is over 7 years old and has been looking its age recently and prior to Christmas it finally fell apart.
The TrustSTFC and The Official Supporters Club therefore contacted the club and offered and agreed to jointly fund the purchase of a brand new suit for our very own mascot.
The new suit design, largely in line with the current suit is shown above and has one new major addition to it; that being the design includes the ability for us to add the home shirt to the outfit each season for the Robin to be current and on brand for that season.
We are delighted with the new suit and we are all looking forward to seeing Rockin' at the next home game.
The Trust and OSC would like to thank Danny Lee from the club for all his support and help in getting the new suit project over the line.
STFC Trust and Official Supporters Club.
Please contact either James Spencer at the TrustSTFC or Hannah Clinch at the Official Supporters Club for further details.
James Spencer from the TrustSTFC and Hannah Clinch from the OSC, commented below on the project and new suit:
James said “We all felt that at the TrustSTFC we wanted to ensure our Swindon mascot was looking sharp and had a new suit to delight all his fans so we agreed with the Official Supporters Club that we would jointly fund a new suit for him, this is a significant investment for both sides but we really felt passionate that we wanted to do this to ensure Rockin was looking his best for his dance routines, we are delighted with the outcome”.
Hannah added “All of us at the Official Supporters Club had agreed that Rockin’ Robin has been looking a little worse for wear recently, so we’re pleased to have been able to join forces with TrustSTFC to fund a new suit to get him back out on the pitch, where he belongs! We hope you all like the new suit as much as we do! “
For Saturday's visit of Forest Green Rovers to the County Ground, three Swindon Town Supporters Groups have joined forces to colour the ground RED and WHITE when the teams walk out onto the pitch at 14:55!
The STFC Official Supporters Club, TrustSTFC and Great Western Reds have come together to help push the boys on to what has the potential to be a great end to the season.
The aim of this 'Tifo' is to energise the County Ground faithful ahead of another crucial game in Town's League 2 promotion bid (or dare we say title chase?).
Let's make it another brilliant home game to remember for Richie Wellens' men!
This has been jointly organised and funded by all three supporter groups and we hope you like it and have a great day supporting the boys!
